Bruce Dunn Named a Distinguished Visiting Professor at Shinshu University in Japan

Bruce S. Dunn, the Nippon Sheet Glass Company Professor of Material Science and Engineering at UCLA, has been appointed a Distinguished Visiting Professor at Shinshu University in Ueda, Japan. In this position, he will carry out collaborative research with an interdisciplinary team of faculty in Shinshu University’s Center for Energy and Environmental Science. Research will be directed at creating new generations of materials with designed properties, novel characterization methods and innovative energy storage systems. Dunn joined the faculty at the UCLA Henry Samueli School of Engineering and Applied Science in 1980. In 2013 he was elected to the World Academy of Ceramics in recognition of his outstanding achievements in sol-gel materials and the development of new electrochemical materials and devices.
