The 2017 Best SEM (Scanning Electron Microscope) award ceremony was held on January 26th. More than 30 images were submitted by students for the contest in two different award categories: the “MNA Award” and the “FEI Tony Award”. The Best Image winner for the MNA Award is selected by the Voting Board Members and the images for the FEI Tony Award are judged by the FEI Company Award Committee. (See list of winners below)
The annual Best SEM (Scanning Electron Microscope) Image Contest is sponsored by the Molecular and Nano Archaeology Laboratory, a joint venture between the Materials Science and Engineering Department at the UCLA Henry Samueli School of Engineering and Applied Science and the Cotsen Institute of Archaeology at UCLA.
