Roxanne Radpour, a 3rd year Ph.D student from Professor Kakoulli’s Lab, was awarded a Fulbright Fellowship to conduct research towards her PhD in Cyprus during academic year 2016-17. Her research involves THz and hyperspectral imaging modalities (both reflectance and luminescence) for cultural heritage applications – mainly subterranean and rock cut painted tombs. She will be based at the Civil Engineering Department of the University of Cyprus and the Cyprus Geological Survey Department, Ministry of Agriculture, Rural Development and the Environment. She was also the recipient of the Danielle Parks Memorial Fellowship from the Cyprus American Archaeological Research Institute (CAARI) to support her work on the island.
