External Advisory Board (EAB)
The Materials Science and Engineering Department has an active External Advisory Board (EAB), comprising members serving in a broad array of industrial sectors, national laboratories, and other universities. Several alumni serve on the EAB as well. The EAB was established in 2002. The Board meets at an annual 1-day presentation by the department chair and other faculty members and acts as an advisory board to the MSE Chair.
Input from the board consists of a formal report that addresses the state of the department as well as written recommendations for future courses of action. In addition, informal comments from the members are solicited. The EAB serves as an important link to our graduates’ employer constituency. The past EAB presentations are available in the department office.
